Stewardship

Utilizing and Managing God’s Gifts for His Glory and the Care of His Creation.

Generosity

Stewardship is not limited to a financial campaign at the end of the year.  It is the continuous receiving, development, and generous outpouring of our gifts to help others that are in need.  As we assess our stewardship of the gifts that God has given to us, it requires examining what is truly important to us. By putting our faith in God’s promises, it allows us to grow that faith and frees us to share our gifts more generously and abundantly.

Gifts We Receive

Stewardship of God’s gifts is a core element of every Christian’s life.  Our gifts can come in many different forms.  These gifts can include the amount of time available to us, the ability to sing or dance, the skill to craft beautiful objects, the patience to teach others, our possessions, and God’s creation around us.  The Christian is called to develop and care for these gifts so that they may be shared among the community to serve others and for the glory of God.

Care of The Earth

Genesis 2:15 – “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
Psalm 24:1 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
Issues Threatening our planet include Pollution, Environmental Degradation, Resource Depletion, and Rising Ocean Levels

Why Your Gifts Are Important

Returning to God a portion of his gifts to us is a significant way to acknowledge his generosity to us.  Through the combined giving of United Methodists, we provide community outreach programs, disaster relief, missions, critical support to the poor, and church growth throughout our world. It’s also good for you and your faith!
